HEY! Post the Patti LaBelle "Too Good to be Turkey" Chili recipe! It sounds too good to be true!
My mother always makes sauerkraut on New Year's Day. When asked why? Her sweet reply was…I don't know, I just always have. Now eat it!
By the by, Michael and I went out and bought Apples to Apples. What FUN!

We have a lasagna every year on Christmas at my family's celebration. Though my mother prepares an obscene amount of food, so I'm not sure it could be considered a 'norm.'
Happy new year! 🙂

This end of year list brought up all kinds of things I wanted to share with you (basically rehashing all of the things we loved last year, haha), but maybe I'll send you an email instead. For now, let me just say that my sister in law has promised me a Turban for an after-holiday present (she found a BOGO for them in a catalogue and now she and I will match! Yay!) and that I was wearing my soft pants while listening to this podcast.
*smile*
Oh, and when I lived in the Northeast (NY, but not NYC), it was very common to have a lasagne for Christmas. *shrug*

I'm back! I got a new MP3 player for Chrismakkah so I've caught up on all my back epis in a week. I can't believe THIS is when you've decided to scale down to one a week. Oh well. Big sigh. I'm glad for your new jobs.
Anyway, how fun is a year-end roundup! Husband and I include one in our holiday letters, and it really wows people. We do best albums/books/movies/tv, plus other trivia like best restaurants/number of baseball stadia visited/motto of the year (don't you love a motto?)/culinary achievements/favorite new vegetables and on and on.
I was thinking when listening last night that it might be really fun to have a Soft Pants Party, where everyone comes wearing their soft pants. You could make pretzel hugs and watch the TIVO or play Wii. Or maybe it would be a game night.
Lastly, have you tried Whole Foods Fleur de Sel caramels? Hoooey are they delicious!

Another terrific HMDWL podcast this week. Sometime, would please tell us about the games you love on game night? I am always looking for new ones to try.
My family's christmas dinner growing up wasn't lasagna, but another italian favorite, spaghetti. Dad put food coloring in the water when boiling the pasta so our plates were a festive red and green!

Hey guys! I'm just a fan from Richmond, VA but I will have to say, your show has got me hooked! I love putting it onto my ipod to listen to while doing my dishes/other household chores. I recommend your show to all my friends in search of great podcasts! Hope all is well.
